High value by weight, buyers without analytical capability, and channels with little accountability. A vial containing nothing may produce a null result that gets attributed to the experiment rather than the material.
What counterfeits contain
Anything from an entirely different compound, to a genuine compound at a fraction of the stated content, to inert filler. Underfilled vials are the hardest to detect, because everything about the material is correct except how much of it there is.
This is one reason net peptide content is a more searching question than purity.
What a buyer can check
- Batch numbers agreeing across vial, box and certificate
- A certificate tied to that batch, not a generic one
- A verification code resolving against the manufacturer's records rather than against the packaging
- Intact sealed packaging
- A certificate that states methods, not only results
The limits of checking
None of these analyses the contents. They establish that the documentation is coherent and that the packaging is what it claims to be. Independent analysis is the only way to confirm what is actually in a vial, and for most buyers it is not practical — which is precisely why documentary controls carry the weight they do.
